Discovery Journal

The Discovery Journal is an 8-week inductive study that launches the participants on a journey through the Scriptures. The study teaches participants to explore the Bible using study tools and methods such as keywords, cross-references, background, personal application, and original language word studies.* Each participant will gain deeper knowledge of the Bible through reading and memorization.

The Discovery Journal is the official Summer Study resource and comes in four editions based on age division—Beginner, Primary, Junior, and Senior. Participants will receive the Discovery Journal at the beginning of the Summer Study.

*Study tools may vary based on edition and study topic.

Supplemental Resources

Each registered participant will receive access to supplemental study resources through their online dashboard. Supplemental resources include digital versions of memory passage cards, answer keys, and cursive and print copywork. Resources provided may vary by age division.

Study along with your kids!

The Senior Discovery Journal is designed to challenge older students and adults through a deeper understanding of Scripture and Greek and Hebrew word studies. Complete the study independently or along with your kids. The study can be purchased at the online store.

Community

Host Groups

A host group is a group of registered participants who meet locally to study Scripture and encourage each other during the Summer Study. Each group has a leader, called a host, who facilitates local meetings for registered participants to practice memory verses, play games, and have community with like-minded friends. Participants may choose a host group during registration.

Online Community

The online community is a private social platform where registered participants and their parents can exchange study tips, share encouragement, and connect with other families.

Know God’s Word and Make Him Known.

Proclaim Day

Proclaim Day is an opportunity for participants to showcase what they have learned and memorized over the course of the Summer Study. This is an event planned by hosts or parents in their local communities. Proclaim Day consists of two parts: a multiple choice question quiz and memory verse recitation.

NBBC Qualifying Test

Following Proclaim Day, participants ages 7–18 (Primary, Junior, and Senior divisions) may take the National Bible Bee Competition Qualifying Test. The online test can be taken at home or within a host group setting. The highest-scoring participants will be invited to compete in the National Bible Bee Competition.

National Bible Bee Competition

The top 120 participants in each age division will be invited to compete for over $100,000 in prize money in a heart-grabbing competition. Contestants will compete in Scripture knowledge and memorization as they “know God’s word and make Him known”.
